Hello. We are two friends who have long held an ambition to complete this ever popular cycle ride from the southern tip of Britain to the northern tip of Scotland.
In the process of completing this challenge Pete is trying raise funds for local charities with an emphasis on supporting local charities one in the town where he works, Hastings, and one in the town where he lives, Eastbourne. Pete’s Hastings charity is Surviving Christmas which he has knowledge of through his work with the Youth Offending Team. This charity organises a three day opening at Christmas at the Hastings YMCA for lonely and homeless people and gives out food vouchers to disadvantaged families and young people referred by professional agencies. It also packs and delivers food hampers to families and elderly people in need at Christmas in Hastings. http://www.charitygiving.co.uk/peterpreston The charity in Eastbourne is Families for Autism, I know this charity personally through personal circumstances. Young people on the autistic spectrum find it very difficult communicating with the world, they often find themselves very isolated in their communities, Families For Autism helps to bridge that gap by providing a youth club and varying activities in and around Eastbourne. http://www.justgiving.com/Peterpreston
If you click on either link you can make a donation. Thanks very much in advance. it would be great if I could raise at least £500 for each charity…maybe more??
This is a link to both charities websites if you would like to see what they do:
