Tough day into the wind. Great to meet Peter and Jane going the other way. Through Chepstow to Lydney for lunch. Never spent so much time riding on the hooks.

Serious headwind for the whole 80 miles ... tough.
Now in pub with beer & steak.

Good news the yellow sock lost by Rob has been found in the landlady's daughter's bedroom!

Day 2 was the toughest day of cycling I've ever had over 5600 feet of climbing. Eat and slept well though.

Over into Somerset now.

Much easier today. Fantastic bacon nap from Sue at Buildbase in Wellington. Change of brake blocks from Ralph Coleman's in Taunton - nice people. Altercation with a car that turned in front of me; I banged on his roof though so that's 15 all.
Meeting my daughter in Clevedon tonight.

Longer day than we thought. Crossed over into Somerset. Lots if trainspotting opportunities. Bike much better with new brake blocks. Run to Bromyard tomorrow across the old Severn Bridge. Thanks to all our sponsors, money arriving daily for our charity. Lady in restaurant gave back our tip!

Tough distance today but at least the terrain was pretty flat after about Wellington.
Excellent Italian meal this evening - none of that "east of Venice" food that I can't be doing with.

AND (another) great typo from Jon - the bacon lady mentioned wasn't having a sleep ... it was her Baps he meant to describe! (and I have to spend all day with him ...
